Summer Camps are open to anyone who seriously intends to audition for the University of Arizona Drumline. High school juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend!
The camps will cover how we do things at the UA and why we do them. Starting with stroke fundamentals and finishing with playing UA’s warmups; the camps serve to better prepare you, and thereby increase your chances, for a successful audition for the UA Drumline. These camps are open to all – music majors, non-music majors, all majors, non-majors, and high school seniors.
There are 2 requirements for being eligible for the camp:
You will be auditioning for the UA Drumline for the upcoming Fall 2024 or 2025 seasons
You can read basic rhythms (emphasis on 16th note based rhythms)
Non-returning members of the UA Drumline are not eligible to attend as per requirement #1.
To attend, click on the links to the right and sign up for the Facebook Event. This is to ensure that we have enough music to hand out and equipment to go around. In the event we do not have enough equipment for everyone, incoming freshmen will have priority on drums.
